Wedding planner expands team and service offerings with ease thanks to strong website base
Introducing Sea & Silk Events
We first met Amanda of Sea & Silk Events when she was just starting her business a number of years ago. In exchange for some wedding planning assistance, she received a basic site on WordPress to get her started. Since then, Sea & Silk Events has undergone a number of changes including additional services, junior planners, and more. While we definitely can’t take credit for her success as a wedding planner, we can say that we are proud to have supported her from a technological standpoint since the beginning. It’s truly like seeing one of your babies grow up.
The “Before”
The Sea & Silk Events website was hosted originally on Squarespace, but the design capabilities of the platform didn’t fully match what Amanda had in mind. Having heard of the possibilities working with a web design/development team like ours could have and knowing where she wanted to take the business, she agreed to move to WordPress.
The “After”
We’ve supported Amanda through various changes to her website since its initial launch a few years ago. Some of these changes have included adding separate portfolio and blog functionalities so that she can show off her amazing work and expertise as a wedding planner. Her main and services page and inner pages dedicated to each type of service she offers have been created, changed, and removed as she’s honed in on her secret sauce and followed trends in the industry with what brides are looking for. As her style has evolved through the years, the website has also had numerous photo refreshes and small design tweaks to ensure her site stays consistent with the original branding, but matches the vibe of the most recent batch of photos. Throughout it all, Amanda has been a loyal Something Blue Studio client, and we’re always happy to help her update and tweak her site as she grows in the wedding industry.
